DIE FLACHE ERDE (THE FLAT EARTH)
- AN IMMERSIVE DANCE / PERFORMANCE PROTOTYPE
Is there an absolute reality? Or is reality as we know it slowly disintegrating into fragments of fictional ideologies? In this performance prototype, we explore the power of disinformation in the Digital Age and how this affects our concepts of truth. In the novel "1984," George Orwell wrote about "reality control," where the population is completely monitored by their governments. Is it possible that the spread of disinformation resembles such Orwellian constructs and intentionally manipulates people's understanding of reality?Together, the performance artist and the test participants/audience will enter into a dystopian experience and reflect on how disinformation is used as a tool to dismantle our democracy.
*We consider this performance a prototype because it can only exist with the feedback and interaction of our test participants/Audience.
